New to make up: Brushes from 168 Mall

I have discovered a new way to express myself---through make up!

The Girl talk forum has really helped me a lot in deciding what to get for my make up collection.
This time I will be telling you about the brushes I bought from 168 Mall.

I don't really know anything about brushes so I guess you can consider me lucky when I stumbled on this find.
It's almost identical to the BN brushes that everyone is raving about.

I think at this time, BN doesn't provide the blush brush anymore and they have it replaced with an eyeshadow brush. What I got is a small travel kit in gold with 1 stippler brush, 1 foundation brush, 1 concealer brush, and 1  angled blush brush. Instead of the BN that is inscripted on the handle, it says MAC on it.

I have washed it and I was surprised that there are no shedding for all of the brushes.

There's still one more kit in there. hehehe. So hurry! It is for 600PHP for all the brushes and the kit.
I haggled though for 500 PHP. Check out the shops that sell Hello Kitty stuff at the ground floor of 168 Mall. (Thanks to Kyoote for the directions.) If you see the fake MAC Hello Kitty products, then you're at the right place. 

Ebay make up haul from China!

Today is a really happy day for an Ebayer like me! I have been waiting for the packages from China and at last, after 3 weeks, it has arrived.

I have bought from 3 different ebayers--eason, benjie, and jiang.

I was a little worried since numerous stories have been told on the internet regarding the incredible taxes that the Philippine Post office usually place on items bought abroad. This is my first time to some items overseas and be sent to my address here in Davao. This is different from the Japanese haul from my friend Yuka since she sent it via EMS.

I got 4 packages today and each has a small receipt attached to the mailing envelope. It is the amount of 40 pesos for each of the package.  I was relieved that A. the package was not stolen and B. that I was not taxed more than what I have expected. It was a fair price, I guess.

So what did I purchase?

I got ...

1. A Palgantong set that consists of a BB cream, a setting powder, and a nice pink puff.

2. An Anna Sui eyelash curler- This is by far, the best curler I have ever used. I think it is an original and comes with a refill. It's perfect for my eyes.

3. A Bobbi Brown eyelash curler-

This curler is also nice. I gave this to my younger sister. It came with a free refill.

4. A Shu Uemura eyelash curler- Of all the three curlers, this is my least favorite. I also think this is an original curler but I don't like this as much as the Anna sui. It takes more effort for me to curl my lashes using this and I think my eyes are too big for the curler. This weighs more than the two curlers.

5. Face Shop make up base in green

-This is again an original and it is not used. It is in a clear plastic packaging with seal. The tube itself was still sealed however, some of the product escaped the tube which is probably because of the pressure that was placed on the package. But still, the product arrived in excellent condition. It was not messy at all.

6. An owl ring- A nice gold ring that I got for my sister. I haven't seen anything like it here in the Philippines.

7. A Shu Uemura brush 18R- This is a Shu Uemura brush with red goat hair. It sheds so I think this is not an original. I've seen pictures of it on the internet. I think mine looks different because the letterings on the brush are not the same. Oh well, it was for 1 dollar anyway.

I'm satisfied with all the items except the Shu Uemura brush. Everything arrived in okay condition. I think the curlers are the best buys since it's so expensive if I buy it from the store. They look original and they curl nicely so, me thinks they are genuine.

My new make up box

Here's a new make up box that I got...this one was originally used as a tool box. Imagine that!

Good thing I have salvaged this one from the greasy screwdrivers and pliers. This is a beauty box, not a tool kit. Now, it houses my most precious make up collection.

Japanese cosme haul from Yuka

I have read numerous blogs about the horrible EMS service here in the Philippines.  I don't know but I guess I did something good to not experience those highway robbery taxes imposed on the recipients of the package.

Anyway, here's my loot from Japan courtesy of Yuka, my favorite cosmetics friend. hehe.

I got some stuff from CANMAKE which is a drugstore brand in Japan. It is a cheap make up company but has been getting a lot of nice reviews from MUA. I got the Cheek Highlight Gradation in 02 and Canmake's Cover & Stretch Concealer UV Water Proof in Shade 02.

I am currently in Davao and I was surprised of the fantastic service of EMS. The loot came in 2 days right after it was received in Manila on a Friday.

I checked the EMS website and saw that my packaged arrived on July 2,Friday in Manila. I received my package right on my doorstep, July 6, Tuesday. I was charged 40 pesos for my package and since I have been reading a lot of posts that they were charged for taxes etc., I felt a little generous and gave the delivery guy 70 pesos hehe. At least I got my package and my peace of mind.

Kudos to EMS again!

Cosme addict

Cheek and lips? Blush and lipsticks. My favorite things now! I used to collect books and bookmarks but I think I have been addicted to cosmetics lately. I will be posting some items that I like and maybe it could give you guys an idea on what's best out there (well, at least for me).  I've been reading a lot of forums in Girltalk and have been watching a lot of Michelle Phan videos. Absolutely addicted to tutorials!

What do I look like?

I'm a petite Asian girl. A bit tan with yellow undertones.  My hair is black and my eyes are black. I don't know my shade with MAC.  Actually, I have never owned a MAC product.  So I'm really excited to go to a MAC store and pick out a nice a eyeshadow for me!  Or maybe a nice pink lipstick? I'm gonna have a mini-O just thinking about how nice it will look hehe.  I love going to the beach which poses a bit of a problem for me for the very reason that I get tanned easily. That is why I have several shades of concealers and liquid foundation so that I have something ready when I'm a bit tanned or when I return to my normal skin color.  My choice of lipstick now is red. Me and pinks don't go well together I guess. For blush, I go for the rosy shade.  I like to wear make up when going out but when I'm lazy, I just put on BB cream, loose powder and lipgloss. I love putting on sunblock.

Problem areas:

1. Scars
2. Uneven skin tone
3. dark Undereye area
4. acne-prone skin

If there's such a thing as a fashion victim, I would say that I used to be a cosme victim.  I always pick out the wrong shade! But I hope I look better now :)  I still need a heaps of help though!

  
Some thoughts before I post my reviews about make up.

• I believe that every girl should have the right lipstick.
• People who wear make up aren't stupid. I mean really, it takes artistry to perfect the eyeshadow blending!
• Make up:girls=Video games:boys
• So what if I wear make up at home?
• One of the best times to wear make up is when you're sick.
